This gorgeous barn conversion is seriously stylish from the moment you arrive. With split level accommodation, it's original use was as an open cart shed. With exposed stone walls and vaulted ceiling, the light floods into the main living, dining and kitchen space from a series of French doors that open onto a private garden, with views across fields and woodland.

Indoors
Designed on two levels, there are two bedrooms upstairs, both with ensuites, then an oak stairway leads you down to the open plan, double height kitchen, dining and living space.
With exposed beams and stone walling, this fabulous light filled room has three double French doors that open out onto a private garden with views across the Cornish countryside.
Outdoors
French doors open from the living/dining room, leading to a large south facing patio extending to lawns and views across the open countryside. Chestnut fencing encloses the garden making it dog-friendly. There is garden furniture and a barbecue for outdoor entertaining. Meanwhile doors from both bedrooms lead out onto the private courtyard.
On Your Doorstep
Tresemple is located close to the Fal River, which is tidal. It is known for its natural beauty, deep estuary and historical importance. It rises at St Austell, flows southward through countryside and woodland, including the area around Tregothnan Estate and Duchy of Cornwall. It eventually enters the sea at Falmouth, one of the largest natural harbours in the world. Falmouth is approximately 20 minutes drive by car. There are day boats from Truro to St Mawes, Flushing and Falmouth.
Mawes Barn is located at Tresemple, whose recorded history dates back to 1278. Tre is a common prefix in Cornish place names, meaning 'farm'. Managed by the Duchy of Cornwall, the neighbouring tenant farm tends to the surrounding fields and has a number of projects including The Farmyard Market, every Saturday from 9am. Less than 5 minutes by car is Truro, a small city dominated by the three spires of the Victorian built Truro Cathedral.

Mawes Barn boasts an open plan kitchen/living/diner, with a gas feature fireplace and comfortable furniture, and enjoys views over the garden accessed with double doors. Here you’ll find a Smart TV, Roberts Radio, books and board games. An oak staircase leads off the sitting room to the upper floor.
EATING
The kitchen is equipped with an electric cooker with double oven and induction hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher and modern cookware, tableware and cookbooks. A washing machine and dryer are located in the utility room based on the upper level.
SLEEPING
There are two bedrooms, a double bedroom with king size bed and a twin bedroom, featuring a zip and link beds which can be made into super king on request, and Egyptian cotton bed linen.

BATHING
Ensuite to master – bath with overhead shower, WC, wash basin and heated towel rail. Twin bedroom shower, WC, wash basin and heated towel rail. There is also a cloakroom off the entrance hall.
DOG FRIENDLY
Mawes Barn is ideal for dogs and you are very welcome to bring up to two dogs during your holiday at a cost of £35 per dog per week

Located less than a mile from the centre of Truro, it is conveniently placed for exploring Cornwall's capital, it's riverways, Falmouth and The Roseland, it also gives you the choice of north or south coasts to explore.
Surrounded by beautiful countryside, Tresemple is close to the Fal River, which is a haven for wildlife and birds. With two excellent local pubs, The Wheel Inn in Tresillian and The Heron Inn at Malpas, it has everything you need on your doorstep.
