To See & Do

Cornish Myths & Legends at the Cornwall Museum & Art Gallery

Step into a magical exhibition inspired by the old fireside stories of Cornish folk. Through famous and lesser-known tales, we invite you to explore the lore of this land.

Exhibition open: 31 March - 1 November, 2026

Making use of art, artefacts, storytelling and interactive elements, the exhibition invites museum visitors to bring their “curiosity and sense of wonder, as together we explore the lore of this land.”

The exhibition opened on 31st March and is designed for all ages, it sheds fresh light on some iconic and much-loved tales and offers a playful and immersive visiting experience – including designing potions, mythical-themed dressing up, and a storytelling corner.

No matter how familiar you are with Cornish myths and legends you’re guaranteed to discover something new, including lesser-known tales, rarely seen illustrations, and intriguing artefacts.

The exhibition also explores how myths and legends are always evolving, inspiring people to think about their own stories and traditions within families and communities that could stand the test of time; there will be a programme of activities and events based around the show for all to get involved with.

Entry is included with a standard Annual Pass, which is £10 for adults. Under 18s and carers go free.
