Cornwall is famous for its coastline and seascapes – rugged cliffs, sandy coves, sweeping beaches and fantastic surf. Each and every one of our Cornish cottages is within 20 minutes of the sea, perfect for exploring the beautiful local beaches.

Two of our cottages lie in the countryside on the outskirts of Newquay, close to the town and the north coast but in quiet, secluded locations. There is a range of beaches in the area, from the family-friendly Great Western Beach to the less busy Watergate Bay. Along the coast you'll find shops selling essential seaside items and plenty of restaurants serving fresh fish and chips.

On Fistral Beach, the clean waves rolling in from the Atlantic are ideal for surfing and bodyboarding. If you’ve never surfed before and would like to try something new, there are many local companies that offer surfboard hire and lessons for beginners. A walk along the South West Coast Path provides spectacular views of the sea.

From the homes in our Loskeyle collection, strike out and explore the beautiful Polzeath beach on the north coast, or cycle the Camel Trail and follow the river as it flows out towards the Atlantic. The small and scenic Polkerris Beach is a mere 20 minutes from our Restormel collection cottages, with Fowey to the east and the historic Charlestown to the west.

On the Isles of Scilly, 28 miles from Land’s End, the beaches have more in common with the Caribbean than Cornwall. Here, it’s easy to find yourself a private stretch of sand where you can sunbathe, swim or gaze out to sea. Scilly’s secluded location makes it a relaxing retreat for those looking for a quiet holiday away.

If you're planning a more active break, there are plenty of seaside activities on the Isles of Scilly. Boating trips between the islands are available, as are wildlife safaris around the islets where migrant seabirds nest in summer. As well as sandy beaches, the islands’ coasts feature rocky outcrops, caves and coves, which can be explored by kayak.
