Picnic in the cool shade of a country oak, or stroll barefoot on a beach in the warm summer sun.
During the summer months, the days are delightfully long and the landscape welcomes you with warmth. Discover all the things the season has to offer, from wildlife walks to lazy days lounging on the beach.
Cornwall truly comes alive in the summer. Surf schools open up across the north coast, along with seaside shops and beach cafés. Relax on a cruise up the River Fowey, where herons and oystercatchers wade in the shallows along the banks. Carved into the cliffs on the coast of Porthcurno, the open-air Minack Theatre runs daytime and evening shows throughout the summer season.
The Isles of Scilly become an island paradise, with their sheltered coves of white-gold sand and the clear, shimmering sea. The hedgerows and gardens are in full flower, and seabirds flock to the uninhabited islets to breed. Contact the riding centre on St Mary’s for guided horseback treks around the island, down country paths, coastal bridleways and across quiet beaches.
In the evenings, enjoy the warm glow of the setting sun as you look out over the landscape. All of our cottages are set in scenic locations, with garden furniture as standard, and provide the perfect backdrop to al fresco dining.
