Q:

Can we drop my luggage off before I arrive?

A:

We are very sorry, but we are unable to offer luggage storage before arrival or after departure.

Q:

We are staying for two weeks, will the cottage be cleaned after the first week?

A:

If you are staying for two weeks, a refresh will be included with your stay. Our housekeeper will call to your cottage, at 10am on the {day_arrival} . We will need to ask for your cottage to be vacated for around 4 hours. A refresh will include a cleaning of surfaces and floors, fresh bed linen to be provided and bathrooms and kitchens cleaned. We will not move personal effects, so please do be mindful to move your belongings if there are any surfaces that will need our attention.  If you do not require a refresh, please do let us know.

Q:

Can we have deliveries to the cottage?

A:

You would be more than welcome to have items or food shopping delivered to your cottage providing that you arrange for delivery for after you arrive, we cannot be held responsible for any deliveries that happen outside of this time or guarantee there will be someone on site to take delivery for you.

Q:

Leisure Facilities - Restormel

A:

The swimming pool at Restormel Manor is available for all Lostwithiel Cottages, should you be staying in a cottage not located in Lostwithiel, please contact the office, and access can be arranged.

The swimming pool, games room, tennis court, and play area are open with no restrictions in place. There are no booking systems to use these facilities but please ask that you read the important information located in your cottage. We do supply pool towels and robes and these will be in your cottage.

**The swimming pool complex at Restormel will be closed from Monday 15th April - Friday 24th May for essential maintenance**

Q:

Are logs provided?

A:

All of our cottages have a wood burner or open fire, we do supply logs and kindling. If you would like a fireguard please contact the holiday cottage team by email holidays@duchyofcornwall.org

Q:

Are barbecues provided?

A:

Barbecues and tools are provided for each cottage, we ask that you supply your own charcoal. Please clean the barbecue before and after use and follow your pre-arrival instruction.

Q:

Can you provide additional housekeeping services outside changeover days?

A:

We would be very happy to discuss your requirements: just email your enquiry to holidays@duchyofcornwall.org or telephone 01579 346 473.

Q:

What happens if I need to cancel my holiday?

A:

If you need to cancel a booking for any reason, we ask that you notify us in writing by email or post. We will try to re-let the property, and if we are successful in doing this for all or part of the period booked we will return to you any sums received by us, up to the amount you paid for the period re-let (minus a £100 administration fee). To achieve a re-letting, we may need to offer a discount at our discretion. We regret that if we are unable to re-let the property, we will not be able to provide a refund.

Q:

Can we bring an extra person and use a folding bed?

A:

A folding bed can be provided in some cottages by agreement, at an additional charge of £50.

Q:

Do you provide a hair dryer?

A:

Yes, a hair dryer is provided at every property.

Q:

How will I get the keys to my cottage?

A:

You’ll receive directions and information about how to pick up your keys when you have paid the final balance for your holiday.

Q:

Will I get a reminder to pay my balance?

A:

We will send you a reminder by email seven days before your balance is due, with a link to pay the balance online via our secure payment system. The balance is due eight weeks before the date of your arrival. If you prefer not to pay online, please call our team on 01579 346 473 and we’ll be happy to help.

Q:

Do your cottages have Wi-Fi?

A:

Yes, all of our cottages have free wireless broadband internet access. In some locations Wi-Fi can be intermittent, please also bear in mind that the mobile phone signal in some cottages is weak or non-existent.

The provision of wireless broadband internet access is a complimentary facility and the Duchy of Cornwall accepts no liability for loss of coverage or quality where technical problems are experienced.

Q:

Can I bring a pet?

A:

No pets other than dogs are able to stay in our dog friendly cottages.

Q:

Can we bring our dogs?

A:

Many of our cottages can accommodate a maximum of two well behaved dogs, at £35 per dog per week. To find out more, take a look at our dog-friendly cottages section.

Q:

When are short breaks available?

A:

Short breaks are normally available from September to March, excluding school holiday weeks. We will also consider short breaks if cottages have last-minute availability during the rest of the year (within one week of the arrival date).

Q:

Do you supply cots and high chairs?

A:

We can supply travel cots suitable for children up to 24 months old, highchairs and stair gates, all free of charge. Please note that bedding is not supplied for cots. 

Q:

Are your cottages accessible for people with disabilities or limited mobility?

A:

The majority of our cottages are old buildings with changes in level. Some may have narrow, steep staircases and will have indistinct colours on steps and in corridors.
