Description

A wonderful retreat, Manor House is the middle section of a Strawberry Hill Gothic-styled mansion, which includes the main public rooms and principal bedrooms. Dating back around 500 years, it has been extensively refurbished to preserve and enhance its historic character, with a mixture of comfortable period and contemporary furniture.

LIVING

Manor House has a spacious sitting room with a period open fireplace and large comfortable sofas. You'll also find a smart TV, DVD player, Roberts Radio, books and board games. An elegant dining room makes the ideal setting for entertaining or special occasion dinners.

EATING

The kitchen is equipped with an electric range cooker with double ovens and ceramic hob, American-style larder fridge freezer, TV and a wide selection of cookware, crockery and glassware. A large farmhouse table is perfect for informal dining, with views over the River Fowey.

SLEEPING

There are four bedrooms, all located on the first floor: two doubles with king size beds and en-suite bathrooms and two twin bedrooms, each with comfortable beds and Egyptian cotton bed linen.

BATHING

The two en-suite bathrooms both have free-standing roll-top baths positioned to enjoy views over the fields, along with separate showers, vanity basins and WCs. There is also a family shower room with a shower, WC and wash basin and a ground floor cloak room with WC and wash basin.

UTILITY

Manor House has a large utility room with a washing machine, tumble dryer and wine fridge.

GARDEN

A private garden extends to the front and rear of the house, looking out over the parkland and River Fowey. Garden furniture and a barbecue are provided.

LEISURE

Guests at Manor House have full access to the extensive leisure facilities on the estate, including an indoor heated swimming pool, steam room and sauna, children’s play area, tennis court and games room.

Location

Manor House is located alongside the River Fowey and surrounded by vast woodland, making it an ideal spot for fishing and walking. Just a short stroll through the woods is the Duchy of Cornwall Nursery with its fantastic café, shop and plants.

From the manor, you can enjoy both the south and north coasts of Cornwall, while also being within ten minutes by car of the Lanhydrock estate in Bodmin.
