Cornwall

Step into the unique landscape of Cornwall, with its distinctive culture, history and natural beauty.

Destinations

With almost a third of Cornwall designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), you won’t need to travel far to appreciate its charm. Though well known for its beaches, fishing villages and cream teas, the region also has a rich cultural and industrial heritage, with a historic significance stretching across the world.

Large areas lie within the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site; a landscape peppered with the remains of granite and red-brick buildings. Stroll among ruined engine houses and waterways to glimpse the scale of this once vast industry.

Cornwall’s coast, countryside and rural communities have long inspired great writers and artists. Around Fowey, walk the landscape of Daphne du Maurier with its sheltered coves and valleys. Further south, you’ll find the famous artists’ areas of St Ives, Lamorna and Newlyn, alongside scenes from Winston Graham’s well-loved Poldark novels.
